Our Story

Where Untamed Beauty Meets Refined Comfort

1987 - The Beginning

Truth is, we started as just a couple of cabins that Jack Reimer built with his own hands. The guy was obsessed with these mountains - spent twenty years as a backcountry guide before deciding he wanted to share this wild corner of BC with folks who appreciated it. No fancy investors, just sweat equity and a vision that the wilderness didn't have to mean roughing it.

1995 - Growing Pains

Jack's daughter Emma came back from hotel school in Switzerland with some wild ideas. Heated floors? A real kitchen instead of campfire cooking? We won't lie - there were arguments. But she got it - understood that luxury and wilderness aren't enemies. That year we added the main lodge, keeping every beam of reclaimed timber and adding those floor-to-ceiling windows that make you feel like you're sleeping under the stars.

2003 - The Spa Years

People kept showing up exhausted from their city lives, and honestly? They needed more than just mountain air. Our wellness retreat wasn't some afterthought - we brought in therapists who actually knew the difference between relaxation and recovery. The natural hot springs we tapped into didn't hurt either. Now folks come here to reset, not just to hike.

2012 - Kitchen Revolution

Chef Marcus changed everything when he convinced us that "local cuisine" didn't mean boring. The man sources from farmers and foragers within 50 kilometers, some of whom we've known for decades. His venison with huckleberry reduction? That's not on any menu in Vancouver. It's what happens when someone really knows the land and respects it enough to let it shine on the plate.

2025 - Today & Tomorrow

We're still family-run, still obsessed with these mountains. Emma's kids are learning the trails now, same way she did. Yeah, we've got conference facilities and all that modern stuff, but walk through our doors and you'll see - the heart hasn't changed. We're still about giving people a real connection to wilderness without asking them to sacrifice comfort. It's not about escaping civilization; it's about remembering what matters before you head back to it.

"The mountains don't care about luxury. But the people who love them deserve to experience them without freezing their butts off or eating freeze-dried mystery meals."

Jack Reimer, Founder
